Depending on its age and variety, a whole garlic bulb will keep fresh from 2 weeks to 2 months. If one is facing redness, swelling or blistering when garlic applied to the skin, easy bruising or bleeding (nosebleed, bleeding gums), its use should be immediately stopped.
